What
sets workbooks apart from books per se?
- Workbooks are designed
to engage readers to interact with the material to a far greater extent
than booksreaders don't simply read but "work through"
workbooks.
- Workbooks are less
word-intensive and generally shorter than trade books.
- Workbooks are designed
for use in small groups (i.e., stimulate discussion and group interaction).
- Workbooks should
make extensive use examples drawn from real-life (or at least realistic
scenarios) that illustrate the concepts and principles presented. The
use of story as testimony is an important element of effective supportive
caregroups.
