Excerpt:
What is it that happens in us when our sister calls
and says she can’t make it to the family gathering;
or when a close friend can’t come over for lunch but
goes shopping with someone else; or when a friend doesn’t
return my phone call; or when your husband loses track of
time at work when you had planned a nice dinner together?
I know in me there’s often a subtle voice that says,
You‘re not valued as much as whatever is taking your
place at the moment. Unfortunately, whether we recognize
the message or not, it impacts us more than we realize.
We lash out in anger (at anyone or anything, physically
and/or verbally); we back away with emotional distance;
we stuff the emotions so we don’t feel the pain of
the message and so we don’t intensify the situation
(but then it may come out again through physical problems);
we seek ungodly strongholds (e.g., addictive behaviors;
controlling other people; and controlling food by overeating,
under eating or purging; etc.) because we hurt. We hurt
because we fear the message is true.
Whatever the cause of our feeling a lack of value,
we are left longing for satisfying, complete, unconditional
love. Jesus commanded husbands to love their wives like
he loved the church: unreservedly, passionately, sacrificially
and unconditionally. And he calls each of us to a standard
of love that forgives others ‘seventy times seven.’
As women, we know we blow it. We also know our need to be
accepted (i.e., loved) even when we fall short. We have
a passion within us to experience unconditional love.

What the Reviewers are saying about Healing
Tears ...
“Healing
Tears is beautifully written with honesty, tenderness
and hope. Kelly exposes her very real struggle to maintain
healthy relationships with others and with her Lord due
to her own emotional discontent. She explores where these
feelings come from and turns to the Lord for help and healing.
She reveals how to move from empty longing into a place
of peace, contentment and joy. This book is sure to be a
blessing to those who read it. I can’t wait to use
this for Oasis.”
– Sharon Harr
