Is your church a "care point"
for the hurting?
Every
Sunday hurting people in your congregation
collapse onto the church pews beat up by life. Too often they
leave with their wounds not bound or, worse, not noticed.
On any given Sunday hurting people
in your community pass by your church on their way
to ... anywhere.
Why don't they come in? Would it make a
difference if they saw your church as a place where broken
hearts were healed and broken lives were repaired, where people
were real and love was not just a cliché that maybe
never really meant anything at all?
So, for instance, when was the last time
you passed a church with a sign like this out front?

Helping make your church a care point for
the hurting!
We can help! CarePoint is an explicitly
Christian ministry that provides turn-key ministry resources
to help churches answer the call to care through supportive
care groups. Our mission is to provide Christ-centered, Bible-based
training and ministry resources that equip care group ministers
with everything they need to start and shepherd a care group
on a specific life-challenges.
We provide training programs
to make sure the laypersons in your church's care ministry
are equipped to lead care groups, manage crises, and help
people!
We provide turn-key ministry resources
with a growing list of ministry kits that provide
you with everything you need to start and run a ministry for
people facing a life challenge such as single parenting, sexual
impurity, and resources on other "big" issues.
The premise is simple:
Jesus concluded his parable about the Good Samaritan who was
a neighbor to the half-dead traveler he came across on the
road to Jerusalem with the charge: You go, then, and
do the same” (Luke 10:37, GNB).

A Training Program for Care Group Leaders!
We at CarePoint can help you offer encouraging
small groups (based on the truth of God's word and the resources
of our faith) to bind up the wounds of believers and set captives
free.
The first step is to make sure that your
small group leaders are properly equipped to lead care goups,
which have special challenges not faced in other types of
small groups (such as Bible study, social, and discipleship
groups).
Our Shepherding Care Groups: A
Comprehensive Training & Certification Program
for Christian Care Group Facilitators was designed
to equip care group leaders to lead effective, life-changing
care groups.
What is it and what does
it do?
The Shepherding Care Groups taining
program teaches laypersons in the congregation to lead care
groups, which are supportive small groups for people suffering
from a common issue such as depression, anxiety, anger, grief,
guilt and shame, etc.
The program covers everything from helping
a person assess his or her caregiving gifts for serving in
care ministry...
- to
determining the need in the congregation and larger community
for a group on a particular topic...
- to
scheduling a time and place for the group...
- to
selecting an appropriate curriculum for the group to work
through...
- to
managing crisis situations and resolving conflict...
- to
birthing new groups and recruiting new care group leaders.
The program also presents the C-A-R-E
model of helping, which breaks the people-helping
process into four main parts: Contact - Attending - Responding
- Encouraging.
